Carl is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of dedicated work in the fields of substance misuse, homelessness, and mental health. 

Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to harm reduction efforts, notably establishing one of the first needle exchanges in hostels in East London. His work has also extended to prisons, where he focused on working with priority prolific offenders. As a team leader of street outreach in West Sussex, Carl has showcased his exceptional leadership skills and commitment to making a positive impact on individuals’ lives. 

Carl holds a range of qualifications and training in alcohol and substances motivational interviewing, managing violence and aggression, life coaching skills, and mentoring holistic therapies. Furthermore, he brings his personal experience of homelessness and substance misuse, providing him with invaluable insight and empathy. 

Carl firmly believes in approaching individuals with kindness and recognizing their inherent humanity, rather than focusing solely on societal labels. His true passion lies in assisting people in establishing a stable and nurturing foundation that they can call home. 

When not working at BASE ONE, Carl enjoys pursuing his hobbies in Buddhism, supporting West Ham, and immersing himself in music. With his extensive expertise, compassionate nature, and dedication to empowerment, Carl continues to be a valuable asset in the field of substance misuse, homelessness, and mental health, tirelessly working to improve the lives of those in need.
